What was your major learning from the week in digital commerce innovations? How does it add value to your role as a manager?

I found B2B and B2C e-commerce video interview quite interesting as it explored the gaps between B2B and B2C convergence. What stood out was IS managers should always find ways to eliminate Latencies when it comes to B2B and B2C. As leaders, we need to always find innovative ways to always streamline or improve current processes.B2B and B2C convergence is an example of Innovation to streamline business processes. It is a brilliant way to reduce latencies and reduce product pricing. As an IT manager one needs to always look at Business processes, Risks, People, and Customers.

What was your major struggle from the week in digital commerce innovations? How does it add value to your role as a manager?

My major struggle was Business Jargon used during the interview however good research made me appreciate and understand the outcome of the interview.

How does what you have learned about, in either of the two topics, affect the way you manage information systems in your business context?

I found it quite interesting and there is a need to not only review or analyze your Business but all other B2B or B2C commerce that impact your business cost and find ways to bridge gaps. Resolving the Latency will result in a faster Order fulfillment process that will be more streamlined resulting in having a Competitive advantage. As an IT manager and leader, you need to always reinvent current business processes by asking yourself:

· How does it impact the customer?

· What are the risks?

· what are the benefits?

· What are the profits in the “Current State”?

· What are the profits in the “Future State”?

· How can we do things differently?

It is vital to treat your current organization as “your business” and always be innovative by encouraging collaboration, transparency, and visibility with all stakeholders, internal or external customers, and vendors. Always be proactive in wanting to know who your vendors are and processes. Innovation is rewarding as it adds value to the customer and business and I find this rewarding as it encourages me to be a better IT leader.
